Figma is for designing software: components, variables, prototyping and developer handoff, used by people whose job title includes "designer". Canva is for producing marketing and internal collateral at volume, used by people whose job title does not. Buy Figma for a marketing coordinator and you get an unused seat and off-brand output; buy Canva for a product team and you get designs that cannot become code.
