Made sense because we already pay Adobe

Used weekly for 1–2 years

Opening our designers Illustrator files and pulling from Creative Cloud Libraries means marketing and design finally share assets. Standalone I would probably have bought Canva; as an Adobe shop this was the obvious call.

Pros

Creative Cloud integration. Firefly AI being commercially indemnified mattered to our legal team.

Cons

Smaller template library than Canva. Collaboration is less mature.

Problems it solves

Marketing assets stopped diverging from the design team source files.

Commercial safety was the deciding factor

Used weekly for 6–12 months

In a regulated industry, being able to say generated imagery is licensed and indemnified is not a nice-to-have. That, more than features, is why we chose it over the alternative.

Pros

Indemnified generative AI. Adobe Stock and fonts included.

Cons

Less polished than Canva for pure ease of use.

Fine, but Canva was easier for our team

Used monthly for less than 6 months

Tested both with the same three non-designers. Everyone found Canva quicker to get results from. Express is capable but we had no Adobe licences to justify it.

Pros

Solid editor, good AI tools, capable free tier.

Cons

Weak standalone case if you are not already in the Adobe ecosystem.
