Evaluated six CRMs for a 20-person B2B services firm and picked HubSpot mostly for adoption odds. Six months in, reps actually use it, which makes every report trustworthy. It is not the cheapest or the deepest, but it is the one people do not fight.
Pros
Adoption. Clean UI. Excellent import tooling and Chrome extension.
Cons
Per-seat cost creeps; some power features feel paywalled twice.

“Free tier is the best growth hack they have”

Started on free with two founders, no credit card. By the time we paid, our whole history was already in there — which is of course the point. The meeting scheduler alone replaced a Calendly subscription.
One pipeline on free hurts once you sell two products.

Custom report builder plus lifecycle stages means I can actually answer "where do deals die?" without exporting to Sheets. Data hygiene tooling (dedupe, formatting rules) is better than anything else we evaluated at this price.
Pros
Report builder, lifecycle stages, property history on every field.
Cons
Workflows debugging is painful — the "enrolled but did nothing" state gives you no clue why.

“Marketing + CRM in one place changed our funnel”

Forms, email campaigns and deal stages all reading the same record means attribution stopped being guesswork. We know which campaigns produce closed revenue, not just MQLs. Setup was mostly done by me, a non-technical marketer.
Pros
Attribution reporting, form builder, campaign ROI views.
Cons
Email editor is more rigid than dedicated ESP tools.
Problems it solves
Proving marketing contribution to revenue for the first time.

We ran sales in Pipedrive, marketing in Mailchimp and support in a shared Gmail. Moving everything onto HubSpot killed the copy-paste between systems overnight. The free tier carried us for four months before we needed Starter, and onboarding two new reps took under an hour each.
Pros
One contact record shared across sales, marketing and support. Import from Pipedrive was genuinely one afternoon.
Cons
The jump from Starter to Professional is brutal on a small budget — most of the automation we wanted sits behind it.
Problems it solves
No more reconciling contact lists across tools; every rep sees the full history before a call.

We route renewals and support follow-ups through HubSpot tickets alongside deals. The shared inbox with collision detection stopped double-replies. Wish the mobile app handled tickets as well as it handles contacts.
Pros
Shared inbox, sequences for renewal reminders, snippets.
Cons
Mobile app is contact-first; ticket workflows feel bolted on.

“Scaled with us from 8 to 60 reps”
Used daily for 2+ years
We came off Pipedrive at 8 reps expecting to outgrow HubSpot too. Three years later at 60 reps we are still here: territories, forecasting and permission sets held up. The trade is cost — at this seat count the bill is real money — but the alternative migrations cost more.
Pros
Forecasting accuracy, admin controls, API rarely breaks.
Cons
Costs at scale; custom objects should be available below Enterprise.
