Obvious choice because we already ran Zoho CRM

Used weekly for 1–2 years

Quotes become invoices without re-entry and the customer record is shared. If you are already in the Zoho ecosystem the integration argument beats any feature comparison.

Pros

Native Zoho CRM link. Inventory and client portal at a price where rivals charge more.

Cons

Dense interface. My accountant had never used it and charged for the learning time.

Problems it solves

Eliminated double entry between the CRM and the ledger.

Most features per dollar, if you can learn it

Used weekly for 1–2 years

Inventory, project billing, multi-currency and workflow rules for less than QuickBooks Essentials. The trade is that everything takes a few more clicks and the UI is busy.

Pros

Feature coverage at the price is unmatched. Free tier is real for small revenue.

Cons

Learning curve, and non-Zoho integrations are thinner.

Good software, US accountant friction is real

Used weekly for 6–12 months

Works well. The recurring cost is explaining it — two of the three bookkeepers we interviewed had never touched Zoho Books, and the one who had charged a premium.

Pros

Strong automation and approval workflows. Good value.

Cons

Limited US accountant familiarity creates a hidden cost at year end.
