“We pay for the freelancers, not the software”

Used daily for 2+ years

Any editor we bring in for a busy month opens the project and works. When we trialled Resolve, half our freelance pool could not. That hiring flexibility is worth more than the subscription costs us.

Pros

Universal familiarity. Team Projects and After Effects round-trip are genuinely seamless.

Cons

Sixty pounds a month per editor, forever. It never stops.

Problems it solves

Made freelance capacity something we can add in a day.

“Text-based editing changed my rough cut”

Used daily for 2+ years

For interview content I now delete sentences from a transcript and the timeline follows. My first assembly on a 40-minute interview went from most of a day to about ninety minutes.

Pros

AI tools are practically useful rather than demo features. Auto reframe saves real time on vertical versions.

Cons

It still crashes more than it should for software this mature.
