We used to take wireframes into stakeholder meetings and argue about them. Now I build the actual thing in an afternoon and let people click it. Decisions that took three meetings take one. It has changed how we scope work more than how we build it.
Pros
Working demo in under an hour. Deploy link to share means no screen-sharing. Non-developers on the team can iterate themselves.
Cons
Tokens vanish when something breaks and you keep re-prompting. I hit the monthly cap twice before learning to be specific.
Problems it solves
Turned abstract feature discussions into clickable prototypes.

“Built my MVP, then had to rebuild it”
Used weekly for 6–12 months
It got me to a working product with paying users in three weeks, which I could not have done otherwise. At about forty files it started struggling — fixes broke other things and I burned tokens going in circles. I brought in a contractor to rewrite it properly. Worth every penny for what it proved.
Pros
Genuinely got a non-developer to a live product. Editing the code directly saved me more than once.
Cons
There is a complexity ceiling and you will find it. The rebuild cost more than the subscription ever did.

“We use it for internal tools and nothing else”
Used monthly for 6–12 months
Admin dashboards, one-off data viewers, small internal forms — things that would sit in the backlog forever. Bolt does them in an afternoon and nobody minds that the code is average because twelve people use it behind our VPN. I would not point it at anything customer-facing.
Pros
Clears a class of low-priority work that never got done. Hosting included means no deployment conversation.
Cons
Not something I would ship to customers. Token budgeting needs watching across a team.
