“Halved the time on every podcast episode”

Used weekly for 1–2 years

A 50-minute interview used to take me three hours to cut. Now I read the transcript, delete what does not work, click to remove filler words and export. It is about seventy minutes end to end.

Pros

Text editing is the right metaphor for spoken content. Studio Sound rescued three episodes recorded in a bad room.

Cons

Uploading an hour of 4K takes long enough that I start it and go for coffee.

Problems it solves

Cut podcast post-production from three hours to just over one.

“Our marketing team edits their own videos now”

Used weekly for 6–12 months

Nobody here can use Premiere. Everybody can delete a sentence from a document. Webinar clips and customer interviews now get cut by the person who ran them rather than queuing for our one video person.

Pros

Genuinely usable by non-editors. Automatic social clips save another step.

Cons

Anything needing motion graphics still goes to the proper editor.
