“Powerful, and easy to make ugly”

Used weekly for 2+ years

For clients with taste it is the best value in the category. For clients without, we steer them to Squarespace, because Wix will faithfully build whatever they imagine including the parts they should not have imagined.

Pros

Genuine creative freedom at a low price. AI generator is a good starting point.

Cons

Freedom to misalign everything. Cannot swap template later, which has burned two clients.

“Renewal price was a surprise”

Used monthly for 1–2 years

The first year was cheap and the renewal was not. Read the second-term pricing before committing, and factor the apps too — three of mine are separate monthly charges that were not obvious at signup.

Pros

Capable platform, everything in one place, good uptime.

Cons

Real cost is meaningfully above the advertised one once renewals and apps land.
