“Fixed our freelance brief problem”
Used weekly for 1–2 years
We brief eight freelancers who are good writers and not SEOs. Sending a Surfer editor link instead of a written brief removed most of the back-and-forth, and first drafts now arrive close to publishable.
Pros
Briefs in seconds. Writers understand a score in a way they did not understand my instructions.
Cons
I have to remind people that 82 with good writing beats 95 with keyword stuffing.
Problems it solves
Cut editing time per commissioned article by roughly half.
