Independence
- Rankings and verdicts are editorial decisions and cannot be bought.
- Whether a vendor pays us a commission plays no part in where it ranks or what we say about it. We publish critical verdicts on tools we earn from.
- Sponsored placements are labelled and kept outside ranked lists. We don't publish sponsored articles.
- Vendors don't see or approve our content before it is published.
How we research
Our work is desk research: vendors' published pricing pages, product documentation, security and compliance documentation, changelogs, and — for regulatory topics — the text of the law or the regulator's own guidance. Prices are recorded with a link to their source and the date they were recorded.
We don't run lab benchmarks across categories. If a piece does include first-hand testing, it says exactly what was tested, how, and when.
What we won't do
- Claim to have tested, measured or interviewed anyone when we haven't.
- Invent statistics, quotes, testimonials or reviews.
- Attribute opinions to “our reviewers” or “our data” that don't exist.
- Backdate content or change a publish date to make a page look fresher.
- Award badges or ratings that aren't backed by the data they describe.
Use of AI tools
We use AI tools to help with research, drafting and editing. A human editor checks every factual claim — especially prices, features and legal points — against its source, decides what is published, and is accountable for it. We don't publish content that hasn't been through that review, and we don't use AI to generate reviews, ratings or quotes.
Dates and updates
The publish date on a page is when it was first published. When we materially update a page, the updated date changes too. Prices carry their own recorded date, because they change more often than the rest of the page.
User reviews
Reviews come from people who use the product, are moderated before publication, and are never paid for. They are kept separate from our editorial verdicts, and they don't currently set category rankings. The full rules are in our methodology.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it. Send corrections to hello@saaspare.com with a link to the page and, ideally, the source that shows the correct information. Significant corrections to an article are noted on that article.
