Our verdict

Updated Oct 5, 2026

The deciding difference is where the features come from. Webflow builds them in: a Style panel for every CSS property, overrides at each breakpoint, a CMS with typed fields, canonical tags and wildcard 301 redirects. WordPress.com starts from themes and blocks and adds the rest through plugins, which install on every paid plan, and manual redirects, custom content types and multilingual sites depend on them. Portability favors WordPress.com, whose export is a standard WordPress XML file of posts and pages, while Webflow's code export needs a paid Workspace plan and leaves out CMS content. A Webflow site with a blog needs Premium, at $39 a month or $25 billed yearly, plus $39 a month billed yearly for each extra full seat. WordPress.com Business costs $40 a month, or $25 a month for the first year billed yearly, renewing at $28, and adds SFTP, staging and backups. Choose Webflow when a designer owns the site, and WordPress.com for publishing with plugins and an exit route.
