Did everything our consultants said needed Salesforce

Used daily for 1–2 years

We were quoted a six-figure Salesforce implementation. Zoho Enterprise plus two weeks of internal configuration delivered the same requirements list — approval processes, territory management, sandboxes — for a tenth of the annual cost.

Pros

Enterprise features without enterprise pricing, sandbox environments.

Cons

Documentation lags new features; UI polish is a generation behind.

Problems it solves

Enterprise CRM requirements on a mid-market budget.

Most CRM per rupee, full stop

Used weekly for 2+ years

For cost-conscious clients I default to Zoho. The Standard tier at $14 includes scoring rules and workflows others gate two tiers higher. The UI is dated in places and some settings are buried three menus deep, but the capability floor is remarkable.

Pros

Price-to-capability ratio, workflow rules on cheap tiers, Zoho suite adjacency.

Cons

UX inconsistency between modules; support quality varies by queue.

Free tier got my shop off spreadsheets

Used weekly for 6–12 months

Three users free, real workflow rules included. I moved my order-inquiry tracking out of Excel in a weekend. When I outgrow it, upgrading is $14 — not a cliff. For micro businesses this is the honest free CRM.

Pros

Genuinely useful free tier, cheap upgrade path.

Cons

Mobile app is clunky; occasional sync delay with Gmail.

Finance team appreciates the suite lock-in, honestly

Used daily for 2+ years

CRM + Zoho Books + Zoho Desk means one vendor invoice and native data flow from deal to invoice to support ticket. Nothing individually is best-in-class; collectively the integration is the value. Zia AI predictions are more accurate than expected on deal closure.

Pros

Suite integration, Zia forecasting, custom functions for edge cases.

Cons

Each app has its own UX conventions; admin feels like three jobs.

Fine choice if you have patience for setup

Used monthly for 2+ years

Capability is all there; discoverability is not. Every client engagement includes a "where is that setting" scavenger hunt. Once configured it runs unattended for months. Buy it for the economics, budget consultant hours for the setup.

Pros

Stability once configured, breadth, price.

Cons

Configuration UX, inconsistent naming across modules.
