Circle vs Skool: Which is better in 2026?

Our verdict
Circle is the better platform; Skool is the better decision for a lot of communities, and the difference is how much you will actually use. Circle offers spaces, live streams, events, courses, workflows, deep analytics and real branding — in our 60-day pilot it produced the highest week-eight retention of any private platform, largely through better notifications. It also costs more at every tier and takes 4% of member payments below Professional. Skool is one flat $99 with courses included, no platform fee, and a gamified leaderboard that produced the highest posting rate we measured. It cannot be branded beyond a logo and its integrations barely exist. The honest split from our reviewers: communities using spaces, events and segmentation are glad they pay for Circle; communities that are one active discussion plus a course consistently report they were paying Circle for things they never opened. Count the features you will genuinely use in month three, not the ones that sound good in month one.
