Bright Data

The largest proxy network, with the compliance to match

  • Bright Data Ltd. · Israel
  • Since 2014

Key takeaways

from our research

  1. Highest success rate on every defended target in our 10,000-request test

  2. Cheapest per successful request on the hardest target despite the highest per-GB price

  3. Most developed compliance framework, KYC and sourcing documentation

  4. Complex pricing and a dashboard that assumes a technical operator

Our verdict

Updated Aug 25, 2026Fact-checked Jul 21, 2026

Bright Data wins the measurement that matters: it succeeded on difficult targets where cheaper providers did not. In our 10,000-request test it posted the highest success rate on every defended target, and once you calculate cost per successful request rather than per gigabyte, its premium narrows sharply — on the hardest target it was actually the cheapest.

The infrastructure justifies it. A pool in the tens of millions across residential, datacentre, ISP and mobile, city and ASN-level targeting, and managed scraping APIs that handle retries and rendering so you are not maintaining unblocking logic yourself. Its published compliance framework, KYC process and use-case review are also the most developed here, which matters increasingly for enterprise procurement and for anyone whose legal team asks where the IPs come from.

The friction is cost and complexity. Pricing is genuinely hard to model across products and tiers, entry commitments are higher than the mid-market, and the dashboard presents a great deal at once — reviewers consistently describe a steep first week. The KYC and use-case review also slow onboarding, which is a feature for compliance and an irritation if you want to start today.

Our guidance: the right choice for serious, sustained collection at scale where success rate and compliance documentation matter. For smaller projects on undefended targets it is more infrastructure and more money than the job requires.

Cheapest per successful request, dearest per GB

Used daily for 2+ years

We moved to a cheaper provider to save money and our success rate on the hardest target fell from 97% to 61%. Once we counted retries and wasted bandwidth we were spending more, and my engineers were babysitting it. Came back within six weeks.

Reliability is the product at our volume

Used daily for 1–2 years

We collect about two million pages a month and the business depends on it arriving. Bright Data is the only provider we have used where a bad week did not mean explaining a data gap to stakeholders. The per-gigabyte price stops mattering once you have had that conversation.

The only one our legal team cleared

Used weekly for 1–2 years

We needed documented IP sourcing, KYC and a compliance contact before procurement would approve any proxy vendor. Bright Data had all of it published. Two cheaper providers could not answer the sourcing question at all.

Overkill for our modest scraping

Used weekly for 6–12 months

We pull a few thousand pages a day from sites with no real protection. Datacentre proxies from a budget provider do it for a fraction of the cost. Bright Data is built for a problem we do not have.
