Bright Data suits companies that collect web data at volume and want every layer of the job from one supplier. A team can start on raw residential or datacenter proxies and move a difficult target to Web Unlocker API, which bills successful requests rather than failed ones, without opening a second account. Residential targeting reaches city, ZIP code (US only), ASN and carrier at no extra cost, and each zone can carry a daily spend or bandwidth cap that the system checks every 15 minutes.

Residential access is the hurdle. For zones created after July 7, 2026, Bright Data runs a human-reviewed KYC check that admits registered companies only: the account needs a company email domain, a funded balance and a registration document, and personal-email accounts aren't eligible. Approved traffic is limited to the stated use case, and government websites are blocked on every network. Standard support runs on business days, with round-the-clock help reserved for the paid Premium and Enterprise plans. Mobile proxies carry no published price, and the license calls subscription fees non-cancelable and non-refundable.

Residential pay as you go costs $8 per GB with no monthly minimum, and the meter counts headers and data in both directions. Monthly commitments of $499, $999 and $1,999 bring the rate down to $7, $6 and $5 per GB, but they're minimums billed on the 1st, and unused commitment doesn't roll over. At 50 GB a month, pay as you go comes to $400, under the $499 minimum, so the commitment pays off only above roughly 62 GB a month. Datacenter IPs cost $1.40 each in a block of 10 ($14 a month) and ISP IPs $1.80 each ($18), with lower rates on larger blocks.

Choose Bright Data if you're a registered company that needs fine residential targeting, several proxy types and managed scraping APIs under one contract. Smaller buyers should price Decodo first: its residential pay as you go is $4 per GB, half Bright Data's rate, and monthly bundles start at $11.25 for 3 GB.
