Oxylabs
Enterprise proxies with ethical sourcing
- Oxylabs (Teso LT) · Lithuania
- Since 2015
Key takeaways
from our research
The most explicit ethical-sourcing position of any provider here
Success rates within a small margin of Bright Data across our targets
Dedicated account management on committed plans
High entry commitments make it poor value for small projects
Our verdict
Oxylabs is the enterprise alternative that competes on ethics as much as on infrastructure. Its residential pool is sourced through a documented consent programme, its compliance materials are detailed, and it has been consistently vocal about sourcing at a time when the industry generally is not — for buyers whose procurement asks hard questions, that transparency is the differentiator.
Performance is close to Bright Data's. In our testing success rates trailed by a small margin on the hardest target and matched everywhere else, with slightly better median latency in Europe. Its Web Scraper API handles rendering and unblocking competently, and dedicated account management on committed plans means a named engineer rather than a ticket queue.
The costs are the usual enterprise ones. Entry commitments are high, pay-as-you-go pricing is less attractive than the mid-market providers, and for a small project you are buying an account manager you do not need. Documentation is good but assumes engineering competence.
Our guidance: the strongest choice when compliance and sourcing ethics are procurement requirements, and a genuine alternative to Bright Data at enterprise scale. Smaller teams should look at Decodo or IPRoyal first.

“Sourcing ethics decided a two-vendor shortlist”
Used daily for 1–2 years
Both finalists performed similarly. Oxylabs could explain exactly how its residential IPs are obtained and consented, in writing. That answered the question our ethics committee actually cared about and ended the evaluation.

“Comparable to Bright Data, slightly cheaper at volume”
Used daily for 1–2 years
We ran both for a quarter on identical workloads. Success rates within a couple of points, Oxylabs marginally better latency in Europe, and about 15% cheaper at our committed volume. Fine margins either way.
