“Removed an entire category of problem”

Used daily for 2+ years

No more "final_v3_actually_final". One file, everyone in it, engineers inspecting the same source of truth designers are editing. Our design system stayed coherent across four squads, which never happened with file-based tools.

Pros

Multiplayer editing, components and variables, Dev Mode handoff.

Cons

Full editor seats are expensive at scale. Very large files slow down.

“Audit your seat types before renewal”

Used weekly for 2+ years

We were paying full editor seats for people who only ever commented. Reclassifying them cut our bill by a third. The seat model has changed more than once, so this is worth checking annually.

Pros

Unlimited free viewers is genuinely useful for stakeholder review.

Cons

Seat type changes have caught us out twice. Easy to overpay by default.

“From an engineer: Dev Mode is the part that matters”

I do not design, I implement. Getting measurements, tokens and asset exports without asking anyone is the single biggest time saving in my front-end workflow in years.

Pros

Dev Mode, version history, works in the browser on Linux.

Cons

Generated code is a starting point, not something to ship.
