What is Hostinger?
Hostinger is a web hosting company founded in 2004 in Lithuania. It sells shared hosting, cloud hosting and VPS servers, and its hosting plans bundle a domain and email for the first year, an SSL certificate, an AI website builder and site migration, with 24/7 support.
Sites are managed in hPanel, Hostinger's own control panel, which has a one-click WordPress installer, a MySQL manager, PHP version control, SSH, WP-CLI and Git integration. An existing site can be moved by requesting an automatic migration in hPanel or by moving the files by hand, and migrations are free. The shared plans are Premium, for 3 websites with 20 GB of SSD storage and weekly backups, and Unlimited, which replaced the Business plan on most of Hostinger's pages in July 2026 and covers unlimited websites with 50 GB of NVMe storage and daily backups, under a Fair Usage Policy. Three cloud plans, Startup, Professional and Enterprise, add a dedicated IP address and more CPU cores and memory. The KVM VPS plans give full root access on servers in nine countries, including the US, Brazil, Germany and India.
Shared and cloud plans are paid upfront for 1, 12, 24 or 48 months, and the monthly rate Hostinger shows is the total divided by the months in the term. Terms of 12 months or longer carry an introductory price that renews higher. There's no free trial; plans come with a 30-day money-back guarantee.
Our verdict on Hostinger
Hostinger suits bloggers, freelancers and small businesses that want low-cost WordPress hosting with developer tools included. hPanel gives SSH, WP-CLI, Git integration and PHP version control, and migrations are free and unlimited, so bringing several existing sites across costs nothing extra. The Unlimited plan removes the website cap and backs up daily with self-service restores, and Hostinger keeps daily backups for 7 days and weekly ones for 7 weeks.
Premium is the plan to be careful with. It holds 3 websites on 20 GB of SSD storage and backs up weekly, which is thin for a site that changes every day. Unlimited's label covers websites and mailboxes rather than storage, which stops at 50 GB, and Hostinger applies a Fair Usage Policy to its unlimited features. The bundled extras run out after a year as well: mailboxes then cost $0.59 a month each, the free domain must be registered within 12 months, and a .com renews at $19.99 a year.
Unlimited is the plan to budget for, and its price more than triples after the introductory term. It costs $4.99 a month for the first 12 months, billed $59.88 upfront, and then renews at $16.99 a month; paying month to month costs $18.99. A 48-month term lowers the first-term rate to $3.99 a month, paid upfront for all four years. Premium costs $3.99 a month for the first 12 months, billed $47.88, and renews at $10.99. Cloud Startup, with 4 CPU cores, 4 GB of RAM and a dedicated IP, is $9.99 a month for the first 12 months and renews at $25.99.
Choose Hostinger for several small sites run by someone comfortable in a control panel, and plan the budget around the renewal. Buyers who want daily backups on the cheapest plan should look at SiteGround, whose StartUp plan includes them along with email, though it hosts one website and renews at $17.99 a month. Developers who'd rather not prepay can run unlimited sites on a 1 GB DigitalOcean server at Cloudways for $14 a month, billed hourly in arrears.

Is Hostinger's Unlimited plan unlimited?
For websites and mailboxes, yes; for storage, no. Unlimited hosts any number of sites on 50 GB of NVMe storage, with daily backups and unlimited mailboxes that are free for the first year. Hostinger says its unlimited features are subject to a Fair Usage Policy. The plan replaced Business as the one Hostinger sells on most pages in July 2026, and existing Business customers keep their plan. Premium, the cheaper option, is capped at 3 websites and 20 GB of SSD storage.
Does Hostinger include a free domain and email?
Yes, for the first year. Yearly and longer plans include a domain free for one year, which has to be registered within 12 months or it's cancelled; a .com then renews at $19.99 a year. Mailboxes are free for the first year too, two per website on Premium and unlimited on Unlimited, and after that each mailbox renews at $0.59 a month on a 12-month term.
How often does Hostinger back up websites?
Weekly on Premium and daily on Unlimited and the cloud plans. Unlimited's daily backups can be restored by the customer from hPanel, and cloud plans add on-demand backups. Hostinger keeps daily backups for 7 days and weekly backups for 7 weeks. The KVM VPS plans include free weekly backups. A store, or any site that's edited every day, is better covered by a plan with daily backups.
Can Hostinger migrate my website for free?
Yes. Migrations are free and unlimited, so several sites can be moved at no cost. After buying a plan, you can request an automatic migration in hPanel or move the files yourself, and hPanel's SSH, WP-CLI and Git integration help with a manual move.
