Hostinger

Fast hosting at a genuinely low price

  • Hostinger International · Lithuania

Key takeaways

from our research

  1. Renewal roughly doubles rather than tripling — the smallest gap we measured

  2. 99.98% uptime and load times near hosts costing three times more

  3. hPanel is easier for non-technical owners than cPanel

  4. Deepest discounts need a four-year commitment; take twelve months first

Our verdict

Updated Aug 25, 2026Fact-checked Jul 13, 2026

Hostinger wins the value argument outright, and it wins it on renewal prices rather than headline offers. Its introductory rates are aggressive like everyone's, but the renewal is roughly double rather than the three or four times common elsewhere — so the year-two bill is genuinely competitive rather than a shock.

Performance held up in testing. NVMe storage, LiteSpeed servers with server-level caching and an included CDN produced load times within a whisker of hosts charging far more, and uptime over our 60-day window was 99.98%. Under a 50-user load test it degraded later than its price suggests it should. The hPanel control panel is also cleaner and easier than cPanel for anyone who is not a sysadmin.

The compromises are real but mild. Support is available 24/7 by chat and is competent, though our tickets averaged slower first responses than SiteGround and the answers were more script-shaped. The cheapest plan's resource limits are tight enough that a busy site will need the next tier up. And the deepest discounts require a four-year commitment, which is a long bet on any vendor.

Our guidance: the default choice for personal sites, small business sites and anyone whose priority is cost per year rather than white-glove support. Move to SiteGround if support matters more than money, and to Cloudways or WP Engine when traffic makes shared hosting the bottleneck.

The renewal did not ruin the deal

Used monthly for 1–2 years

I have been burned by hosts that quadruple after a year. Hostinger went from about $3 to about $9, which is still cheaper than the introductory price at two of the alternatives I looked at. Site has been up for eighteen months without me thinking about it.

Where we put clients who will not pay for managed

Used weekly for 2+ years

Small clients with a brochure site and 2,000 visits a month do not need WP Engine. Hostinger Business gives them staging and daily backups for less than a tenth of the price, and I have not had a performance complaint yet.

Fine until I needed real help

Used monthly for 1–2 years

Everything worked for a year. Then a plugin conflict took the site down and support took nearly two hours to reach someone who could actually look at the logs. Got there in the end, but if downtime costs you money, pay for better support.
