SiteGround

Hosting with support people actually praise

  • SiteGround Ltd. · Bulgaria
  • Since 2004
  • 5 languages

Key takeaways

from our research

  1. Fastest, most competent support in our ticket testing by a clear margin

  2. 99.99% uptime on Google Cloud infrastructure with strong load handling

  3. Renewal pricing is the harshest here — roughly 5x the introductory rate

  4. Storage allowances are the tightest in this comparison

Our verdict

Updated Aug 25, 2026Fact-checked Jul 17, 2026

SiteGround sells support, and having tested it, the premium is defensible. Our tickets — including a deliberately vague one — averaged the fastest first response in this group and, more importantly, were resolved by someone who read the question and looked at the logs rather than pasting a documentation link. For anyone who will not debug their own site, that is the whole product.

The infrastructure is genuinely good too. Running on Google Cloud with their own caching layer and CDN, it posted 99.99% uptime across our window and handled load-testing better than any other shared host here. Staging, Git and WP-CLI on higher plans make it credible for developers as well as for owners who never open a terminal.

Two things hold it back. Renewal pricing is the harshest in this comparison — introductory rates around $3 renew near $18, which is a 5x step that catches people badly. And storage is stingy: 10GB on the entry plan is genuinely limiting for a media-heavy site, and the plans are priced by site count rather than resources in a way that feels dated.

Our guidance: worth the money if support quality is what you are buying, and it usually should be for a business site. If you are technically confident and would rather solve your own problems, Hostinger delivers similar performance for materially less.

Support saved a launch and justified three years of fees

Used monthly for 2+ years

Site went down four hours before a product launch. Chat picked up in under two minutes, they found a corrupted plugin table, restored it and explained what happened. No other host has treated me like that.

Great host, dishonest-feeling pricing

Used monthly for 1–2 years

Signed up at $3.99 and renewed near $18 for the same plan. Nothing was hidden, but presenting a 4.5x step as normal leaves a bad taste. I stayed because support is worth something, not because I felt well treated.

We host client sites here for one reason

Used weekly for 2+ years

When a client rings us panicking, we need an answer fast. SiteGround support gives us that, which means we can offer a service level we could not otherwise. It costs more and we pass that on.
