Rork exists because every other prompt-to-app builder makes web apps, and a great many ideas are phone-shaped. That is the whole case for it and it is a good one. Describe an app, get a React Native project, scan a QR code and run the thing on your own phone within minutes. For validating a mobile concept before paying an agency, or for a founder who cannot afford an iOS developer, nothing else in this category does the job.
The output is real React Native rather than a wrapper, which matters for two reasons: it runs at native speed rather than in a web view, and a developer can take the project over later without a rewrite. App-store submission is supported, and the separate Rork Max product goes further, generating native Swift for iPhone, iPad, Watch, TV and Vision Pro — a genuinely unusual capability, at $200 a month.
The message-based pricing is the thing to understand, and it is blunter than credit systems elsewhere: one prompt is one message, whether it changes a button colour or builds authentication. That rewards batching instructions and punishes conversational iteration, which is exactly the habit these tools otherwise encourage. Junior at $25 buys 100 messages, which reviewers consistently describe as enough to build a demo and not enough to finish an app; $100 Senior is the tier people building seriously end up on. Mobile complexity also bites sooner than on the web — native permissions, push notifications and store review requirements are where reviewers report needing help.
Our guidance: the right tool if your idea is a mobile app and you have no mobile developer. Budget for Senior rather than Junior, and batch your instructions.

We use it to show clients a working prototype of the app they are describing, which sells the project far better than a slide deck. Everything that actually reaches the store still gets built properly. The app-store side is where it needs the most help.
