FlutterFlow is the only platform here that answers the lock-in question properly: you can export the source and walk away. The generated Flutter code is real, readable and maintainable by any Flutter developer, which changes the risk calculation for anything a business will depend on for years.
For mobile it is also the most capable. Genuine native iOS and Android builds, Firebase and Supabase integration, custom Dart functions where the builder runs out, and performance that matches a hand-built Flutter app because it is one. Teams with a developer who can handle the last 10% get a great deal of leverage from the visual 90%.
The trade is that it is barely no-code. Understanding state, data models, async behaviour and Firebase rules is effectively required, and non-technical users in our review data struggle badly. Debugging often means reading generated code, and complex apps still need someone who can. Pricing is also per-seat and rises quickly for teams.
Our guidance: excellent when a technical person is building mobile apps and code ownership matters. Genuinely difficult for a non-technical founder — Adalo or Glide will get them further.

“Visual building without the lock-in”
Used daily for 1–2 years
I can build screens ten times faster than writing Flutter by hand, and if FlutterFlow disappeared tomorrow I have the source in GitHub. That combination is the only thing that made a visual builder acceptable to me as an engineer.

I can use Softr and Glide fine. I could not make FlutterFlow work — data models, state and Firebase rules were beyond me and the documentation assumes you know them. It is a developer tool with a visual interface.
