Front
The customer operations platform for complex B2B work

Key takeaways
from our research
Keeps real email threads intact while adding internal comments, drafts and assignment
Purpose-built for account-based work — logistics, finance, professional services
From ~$19/seat/mo billed annually; analytics and automation sit in higher tiers
Not the efficient choice for high-volume, interchangeable consumer tickets
Our verdict
Front wins a specific and underserved job: support that is really account management conducted over email. If your team handles named clients, long-running threads and questions that require pulling in a colleague mid-conversation, Front’s model fits better than any ticketing system.
The core insight is that the email thread stays a thread. Agents comment internally inside it, draft together, @-mention specialists and assign ownership without the customer ever seeing a queue. For freight brokers, accounting firms, B2B operations teams and anyone whose inbox contains both support and commercial conversation, that is exactly right — and it is the reason Front’s reviewers are unusually loyal.
The price reflects the positioning. Plans start around $19 per seat per month billed annually and climb quickly for the analytics and automation tiers most teams eventually want. There is no native voice, and while Front has added AI features, it is not competing with Fin on autonomous resolution. For high-volume, low-touch consumer support — thousands of similar tickets a week — a real ticketing system will be both cheaper and more efficient.
Our guidance: choose Front when your conversations have names attached and continuity matters. Choose Zendesk or Freshdesk when your conversations are interchangeable and throughput is the metric.

“Built for how our client work actually happens”
Used daily for 1–2 years
Our conversations run for months and involve four people internally. Front lets us comment inside the thread, draft together and hand off ownership without the client ever seeing a queue. No ticketing system we tried modelled that properly.

“Worth it for account-based work, not for volume”
Used daily for 1–2 years
We run client services and Front is excellent. A friend runs consumer support and hated it — thousands of interchangeable tickets is not the job this is built for. Know which side you are on before you buy.

“Good tool, watch the seat maths”
Used weekly for 6–12 months
Works well for our operations desk. The thing that caught us out is that everyone touching a conversation needs a seat, including occasional contributors, so the bill scaled faster than our support headcount did.
