Overview

What is Jasper?

Jasper is an AI content platform for marketing teams, made by Jasper AI, Inc., a US company founded in 2021. It drafts, rewrites and edits marketing copy such as blog posts, emails and campaign material, and it includes tools for generating and editing images.

Work happens in Canvas, the document editor where Jasper writes and revises content, and in Chat, which answers questions and does research. Agents are prebuilt workflows for specific jobs; the pricing page counts more than 100 of them, and the Canvas page shows a Blog Post agent, a Product Launch Campaign and an Email Campaign. What keeps the output on brand is Jasper IQ, context you set up once and reuse. Brand Voice analyzes your existing content and turns its tone and formatting into rules, Knowledge assets hold uploaded text, video, image, data or audio files, and Audiences describe who you're writing for. On the Business plan, Studio builds custom no-code agents and Grid produces content in bulk, row by row. The image suite covers generation, editing, background removal and replacement, upscaling and packshots, and content can be written in 30+ languages.

Jasper runs in the browser, with an extension for Chrome and Edge that works in Gmail, WordPress, HubSpot and LinkedIn. Its marketplace lists Webflow, Google Docs and Slack, and API-powered integrations connect BigQuery, Google Sheets, Zapier and Make. Pricing is per seat: Pro is a self-serve plan for one user, and Business is quoted, with some advanced features charged in credits per action.

Our verdict on Jasper

Updated Oct 5, 2026Pricing checked Oct 5, 2026

Jasper is built for marketers who publish a lot under one brand. Its useful idea is context that persists. Once Brand Voice has learned your tone and formatting and the Knowledge assets hold your product facts, every Canvas draft and agent run starts from them instead of from a blank prompt, so the tenth email of a campaign starts from the same rules as the first. Standard prompts and agent runs are unlimited, so ordinary drafting isn't metered.

The limits show up as soon as more than one person is involved. Pro is a single seat, and a second user means a custom Business quote that begins with a 12-month commitment, a big step for a two-person team. Pro's context is capped at 2 Brand Voices, 5 Knowledge assets and 3 Audiences, too few for an agency juggling several clients. Many of the features that set Jasper apart, including Grid, the custom agent builder, API access, SSO and the research, translation and GEO agents, sit on Business, where they also spend credits per action. The pricing table doesn't say which plan includes each image feature, so check before counting on them. Read the data terms as well. The pricing FAQ says Jasper doesn't use your data to train AI models, while Terms v4.1 license customer content for improving AI models and give EU and UK users a right to object.

Pro costs $69 a month, or $59 a month billed yearly, with the yearly price paid up front for 12 months. Monthly billing can be cancelled at any time or paused for 30 days, which suits work that comes in bursts. There's no free plan, but the 7-day free trial of Pro is long enough to build a Brand Voice from existing content and judge the drafts it produces. Business prices aren't published.

Choose Jasper if one marketer, or a team ready to sign a Business contract, turns out a steady stream of branded content and wants brand rules applied automatically. If what the team needs is cleaner writing everywhere rather than content production, Grammarly Pro is self-serve for up to 149 members at $12 per member a month billed yearly, and it works inside the apps people already use.

FAQs

Jasper FAQs

Written by our editorial team.

Does Jasper have a free plan?

No. Jasper sells two plans, Pro and Business, and offers a 7-day free trial of Pro instead of a free tier. Pro costs $69 a month, or $59 a month billed yearly, which is paid up front as a 12-month commitment. Business is priced by quote. Payment is by credit or debit card in US dollars, and PayPal isn't accepted. See Jasper pricing for what each plan includes.

How much does Jasper cost for a team?

Jasper doesn't publish a team price. Pro includes one seat, and Jasper's sales team builds a custom Business plan for anyone who needs more users; Business begins with a 12-month commitment. It adds unlimited users, Brand Voices and Knowledge assets, API access, SSO with SAML 2.0, SCIM and admin controls. If the team mainly needs writing help in everyday apps, compare Jasper vs Grammarly.

Does Jasper train AI models on your content?

Jasper's own statements differ. The pricing page FAQ says Jasper doesn't use your data to train AI models and that you keep full ownership of your content, and the pricing page says Jasper never lets third parties train their models on customer data. Its Terms (version 4.1) say Jasper claims no ownership of your input and output, but they license that content to Jasper for improving its services and AI models, and users in the EU or UK can object.

Does Jasper use credits?

Only for some features. Writing in Chat and Canvas doesn't use credits, and Jasper's rate card lists prompts and standard agent runs as unlimited. Credits are charged per action for GEO Hub (10 a run), Grid (10 a row), the Research and Translation agents (40 each) and the Optimization Agent (100), as well as for API and MCP calls. Business combines seat pricing with credits, and the size of its credit allowance isn't published.

Can you cancel or pause a Jasper subscription?

Yes, on monthly billing. A monthly Pro plan can be cancelled at any time or paused for 30 days. Yearly billing is a 12-month commitment paid up front, and Business plans begin with 12 months. After you cancel, you keep access until the end of the current billing cycle.
