Overview
What is LearnWorlds?
LearnWorlds is a course and training platform from LearnWorlds Ltd., a company registered in Cyprus and founded in 2014. Each customer runs a school on its own domain. LearnWorlds pitches it to course sellers, coaches and consultants as well as corporate trainers, and a school can sell courses or train employees and customers without any checkout.
Courses are organized in sections, and an AI course builder is included. Sections can be released on set dates or a number of days after each learner enrolls, and exams and self-assessments carry a passing grade with unlimited or limited attempts. The interactive video editor places questions, buttons and pop-ups inside a video, and from the Pro Trainer plan up, SCORM and HTML5 packages from other authoring tools can be uploaded. For training, due dates flag late learners as overdue, user groups assign courses to particular teams, and live 1:1 or group sessions run through Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams or Webex.
Learners use the school in a browser, and a branded iOS and Android app made with LearnWorlds' Mobile App Builder can be added for a monthly fee. LearnWorlds lists more than 50 native integrations, among them Stripe, PayPal, HubSpot, Zoom and Shopify, plus an API and webhooks. Sales go through the school's own Stripe or PayPal account, and Stripe Tax can calculate and collect tax at checkout. Plans are billed monthly or yearly and capped by monthly active learners, admin seats and AI credits.
Our verdict on LearnWorlds
LearnWorlds suits sellers and trainers whose lessons need to do more than play a video. Interactive video puts questions, buttons and pop-ups inside the lesson, exams carry passing grades and attempt limits, and Pro Trainer accepts up to 20 SCORM or HTML5 packages. The same school can sell to the public or train staff and customers with no checkout at all, and Learning Center runs training for up to 10 client groups under full white-label branding, which fits a consultant or training company selling to businesses.
Some of that depth relies on workarounds. Cohorts aren't a course type: LearnWorlds' own guide builds one from dated sections, an enrollment deadline and a switch to Private. Due dates are soft, so a late learner shows as overdue but keeps access unless an expiry is also set. Starter is thin, with no certificates, SCORM, subscriptions, payment plans, landing pages or affiliates. And the pricing page caps monthly active learners at 1,000 on Starter and 2,000 on the next two plans without saying what happens above that, while LearnWorlds' cost guide calls learners unlimited.
Starter costs $29 a month, or $24 a month billed yearly, plus $5 for every paid enrollment. The fee adds up: $2,000 of monthly sales from a $100 course is 20 enrollments and $100 in fees, so Starter costs $129 that month against Pro Trainer's flat $99. The two plans cost the same at 14 paid enrollments a month on monthly billing, or 11 on yearly billing. Pro Trainer, at $99 a month or $79 billed yearly, is the plan most sellers need, with no enrollment fee, 5 admins, 500 AI credits a month, certificates and subscriptions. Learning Center costs $299 a month, or $249 billed yearly. Stripe and PayPal fees, currently 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction, apply on every plan, and the branded app adds $149 a month.
Choose LearnWorlds for interactive or SCORM-based courses, or to train several client companies from one school. A business training only its own staff may do better with TalentLMS, whose free plan covers 5 users and which accepts SCORM, xAPI and cmi5 packages on every plan. Sellers who'd rather not deal with sales tax should look at Teachable, which collects and remits sales tax, VAT and GST in more than 45 countries.

FAQs
LearnWorlds FAQs
Written by our editorial team.
Is there a free version of LearnWorlds?
No. LearnWorlds has no free plan, but every new school gets a 30-day free trial with the core features. After that, the cheapest plan is Starter, at $29 a month or $24 a month billed yearly, plus $5 for each paid enrollment. Plans can be changed or cancelled before the next renewal, and discounts for registered non-profits apply from Pro Trainer up. Prices exclude VAT, which is added for EU customers without a valid VAT number. See LearnWorlds pricing.
Does LearnWorlds charge transaction fees?
Only on Starter, which adds $5 to every paid enrollment. Pro Trainer, Learning Center and Corporate charge no enrollment fee. On every plan the payment gateway takes its own cut: Stripe and PayPal currently charge 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction, paid to them rather than to LearnWorlds. On monthly billing, Starter's fee makes it cost as much as Pro Trainer, $99 a month, once a school has 14 paid enrollments in a month.
Does LearnWorlds support SCORM?
Yes, from the Pro Trainer plan. Pro Trainer allows up to 20 SCORM or HTML5 package uploads, Learning Center and Corporate allow unlimited uploads, and Starter allows none. LTI 1.3 starts on Learning Center. Pro Trainer costs $99 a month, or $79 a month billed yearly, and it also adds certificates, learning paths and subscriptions, which Starter leaves out. For other platforms that take SCORM files, see LearnWorlds alternatives.
How many learners can a LearnWorlds school have?
The pricing page caps monthly active learners at 1,000 on Starter and 2,000 on Pro Trainer and Learning Center, with custom limits on Corporate. LearnWorlds' own cost guide, however, says every plan includes unlimited learners with no per-learner charge, and the pricing page doesn't say what happens when a school goes over its cap. If more than 2,000 learners may be active in one month, ask LearnWorlds how the limit is applied before choosing a plan.
Does LearnWorlds have a mobile app?
Yes, as a paid add-on. The Mobile App Builder creates a branded iOS and Android app for your school, and LearnWorlds says it publishes in under a month. It costs $149 a month on top of the main plan, and the pricing page lists it from Pro Trainer up, so on Pro Trainer's monthly price of $99 it more than doubles the bill.
