Key takeaways
from our research
Replaces course platform, email tool, funnel builder, website and community
Integration between them is the product — no Zaps to debug
From $89/mo — roughly 2.5x Thinkific, so revenue has to justify it
Each individual component is slightly weaker than the best dedicated tool
Our verdict
Kajabi is not competing on course features; it is competing with your whole software stack. Courses, email marketing, sales funnels, a website, a community, coaching and payments in one subscription — for a creator currently running Thinkific plus ConvertKit plus a page builder plus a community tool, the consolidation is real and often cost-neutral.
The integration is what you pay for. A funnel that captures a lead, drips a sequence, sells a course and enrols the buyer works without connecting four products or debugging a Zap. Our reviewers running six-figure creator businesses consistently describe this as the reason they stay despite the price, and the marketing tooling is genuinely stronger than any dedicated course platform's.
The price is the whole objection. Kajabi Basic starts at $89 a month annually against Thinkific's $36, and nobody would choose it purely to host a course. Below roughly $3,000 a month in revenue the maths does not work, and reviewers at that stage are the least satisfied group in our data. Individual components are also each slightly worse than the best dedicated tool.
Our guidance: right once you are running a business rather than selling a course, and currently paying for three or four separate products. Below that, Thinkific plus a proper email platform costs less and does each job better.

“Cancelled four subscriptions the week we moved”
Used daily for 1–2 years
Course platform, email tool, landing page builder and a community app. Kajabi replaced all four for roughly what three of them cost, and everything finally talks to everything else without Zapier in the middle.

“Too much platform too early”
Used weekly for 6–12 months
I bought it before I had a business, on the strength of a webinar. Paid $149 a month for eight months selling about $600 a month of courses. Moved to Thinkific and my costs dropped by three quarters with no real loss.

“Our default for coaching clients”
Used weekly for 2+ years
Coaches selling programmes need funnels, email and scheduling as much as course hosting. Kajabi covers all of it and clients can run it themselves after handover, which matters more than a marginally better video player.
