Key takeaways
from our research
Conversational format measurably improves completion on longer forms
Best-looking output in the category with almost no design effort
Basic plan caps at 100 responses/month — the tightest limit here
Poor value for internal or high-volume forms where design buys nothing
Our verdict
Typeform is worth paying for when a completed response is worth real money. Its one-question-at-a-time format genuinely improves completion on longer forms — our own testing matched the published research — and for lead capture, applications or research where each response has value, that difference pays for the subscription many times over.
The craft is real. Forms feel considered, transitions are smooth, logic jumps are easy to build, and the whole thing works properly on a phone, which is where most responses now arrive. For customer-facing forms that represent your brand, nothing else here looks as good with as little effort.
The response limits are the problem and the most common complaint by a wide margin. The $25 Basic plan allows 100 responses a month — genuinely low for anything public-facing — and the tiers that raise it climb quickly. Reviewers routinely describe discovering the cap mid-campaign. Typeform is also poor value for internal or high-volume forms where presentation buys nothing.
Our guidance: use it for the handful of forms where completion rate matters commercially, and something cheaper for everything else. Running Typeform for lead capture and Tally for internal forms is a common and sensible split.

“Completion went from 34% to 61% on the same questions”
Used weekly for 1–2 years
We moved our qualification form across unchanged and completion nearly doubled. At an average deal value in the thousands, that improvement paid for every Typeform plan we will ever buy.

“The response cap is the whole problem”
Used weekly for 1–2 years
One hundred responses a month on a $25 plan is not a serious allowance for anything public. We now run Typeform on two high-value forms and Tally on the other fifteen, which is a silly setup forced by pricing.

“Wrong choice for internal forms”
Used monthly for 6–12 months
We used it for an internal request form and staff found one-question-at-a-time slower than a single page. It is designed to charm strangers, not to be efficient for colleagues who fill it in weekly.
